Default BMW X6 - A new breed: "SAV - Compact SUV"

The prototype looks very different from conceptual drawing. But still...

This crossover with the silhouette coupé launch new compact SUV class called SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle), which means "a sports car for active lifestyles."

Compact SUV? Doesn't it sound like oxymoron?

Yes, it's also called marketing.

They are not the first one to come up with Compact SUV, there are others like Daihatsu Terios or Toyota Rush... But they pride themselves for creating a coupé out of it, and instead of callling it SUV like normal people call it, they call it SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle).

It probably make some sense to reduce the body weight to lower the fuel consumption.

Now that you've mentioned it, the rear end does look like a porsche with its coupe shape.
