Default Are Mitsubishi & Subaru still rivals?

Why is Mitsubishi and Subaru touted as rivals in car magazines when I don't see Mitsubishi cars in WRC?

The rivalry is between their high powered cars, Lancer EVO and Impreza STI.

Subaru and Mitsubishi are traditional rivals, Mitsubishi used to take part in WRC, but now seems to be focusing on the Dakar Rally with their Pajero.

Cool

It depends on what you are looking at. Performance, looks or just plain practicality?

Comparing performance, STI might score better in terms of handling, stability and power due to its lighter, hatchback body.

Comparing looks, some prefer the big and fierce-looking EVO, while others like the hatchback with smooth curves...

But in terms of size, EVO will win on the cabin and trunk space for sure.

Both of them are petrol guzzlers... but then again, for people who are looking at these cars, that might not be a factor
