LTA's rule says it's fine to use fog light in hazy conditions.

Don't think the lights can help to "see further" but rather, it might allow others to see you better.

My SE wanted to throw in free foglights for my ride but I changed it to something else.

Since we can't use it most of the time, why bother to have it?

I always keep a look out, whenever got mada just flip the switch and turn off the fog lights.

Can't use it often? That's what I though at first, until I drive back Singapore from Seremban late night on the 26th Oct. Don't know if the Haze got anything to do with it, or is it really fog, can't see the road like I used to. And at speed more than 100kph, I would definitely want to see far. I kept alternating between high and normal beam, wondering if fog light would help.

The purpose of foglight is to illuminate the ground right in front of the car in foggy conditions. Some cars (with factory installed fog lights), have their fog lights automatically switched off when the high beam is turned on... If I'm not wrong aftermarket fog lights work similarly too.
